12 coops from Maguindanao receives 1.2 M worth of Loans

COTABATO CITY- The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform has awarded and released 1.2 M worth of Loans in check from the MAFARLENDS Program (Loan for Enhancement for Necessary Development Strategy) to the 12 cooperatives from Maguindanao.

Today, October 21,  AMAD OIC-Chief Datu Hamsur J. Zaid spearheaded the activity at MAFAR Conference Room, BGC Compound.

The 12 approved validated MAFARLENDS 2021 remaining beneficiaries received Php 100,000 each worth of loans payable for three years under the Amortization Plan.

The objective of the activity was to let the people of BARMM, especially the farmers and fisherfolks, know that it was committed to helping in uplifting their economic condition by providing funding support and loan assistance for micro and small enterprises engaged in agriculture and fisheries production and other supply chain activities to ensure availability of food supply, especially in remote areas to help them increase their production and marketing activities consequently improve their economic conditions. 

Bangsamoro Director General for Agriculture Services, Daud K. Lagasi, warmly welcomed the beneficiaries and said that he’s grateful for this opportunity to meet them as well as for MAFAR being the instrument in contributing to their livelihood.

Two chairpersons, namely;  Ato Sionga of Magungayam Agri-Fishery Marketing Cooperative and Nida Matabalao Alongan of Bangsamoro Peace Advocate Consumer Cooperative, have given their message of commitment and said that they were very thankful to MAFAR and for the opportunity of being chosen as one and promise to take good care and grow the money and to fulfill their part as borrowers.

Minister Mohammad S. Yacob, Ph.D. challenged them and said that “you are our partners, and we have given you our trust and confidence, and it is a test of faith on our part that you will be successful by operating the money legally and conscientiously, so please implement it fully and correctly.”

This is for the people and of the people; therefore, let’s help our government by taking good care of the money, he further added.

Furthermore, Director II for Agriculture Services Engr. Ismail A. Guiamel, in his closing message, thanked the presence of everyone, particularly the beneficiaries, and advised them to give their best in handling the money and make themselves proud of being farmers and fisherfolks.

In attendance at the said activity were Senior Agriculturist Ramil M. Timpolok, Engr. Noraine S. Dumasil, and other AMAD support staffs.
