BANGSAMORO GOVERNMENT, DAR INK MOA TO IMPLEMENT EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 75, DAR XII BUILDING TURNOVER TO MAFAR

The COVID-19 pandemic has not stopped the National and Bangsamoro Government from signing the Memorandum of Agreement and Turned over of DAR XII building in the BARMM.

Through virtual on Friday (April 30), Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform and Department of Agrarian Reform have inked a Memorandum of Agreement for the implementation of Executive Order No. 75 Series of 2019 was signed by the President Rodrigo Duterte on February 15, 2019.

Under the MOA, is the EO No. 75 Series of 2019 that will accelerate and ensure the immediate identification and segregation of all unclassified lands of public domain and all government-owned lands (GOLs) suitable for Agrarian Reform.

The signed agreement also contains the National assistance in technical support and financial aid amounting to 20 Million Pesos to alleviate the situation of our brothers and sisters affected by the Marawi Siege.

According to Minister Mohammad S. Yacob Ph. D, the provision of this Fund to the Bangsamoro Government is for the Agrarian Reform Programs to be implemented as an order of the President Rodrigo Duterte “To the Secretary and other officials of DAR they are in full support of the BARMM, we promise that we are committed to our mandate in the Agrarian Reform Programs.” he said.

BARMM Chief Minister Ahod Balawag Ebrahim and MAFAR Minister Mohammad S. Yacob signed the MOA on behalf of the Bangsamoro government, while Atty. John R. Castriones Secretary of Agrarian Reform signed the agreement on behalf of the National Government.

After the MOA signing, turnover of the DAR XII Regional Office (DARRO XII) building to be transferred in favor of BARMM, through a Deed of Transfer.

The building will be occupied by the Agrarian Reform official (BARMM) and other line offices of BARMM, to ensure that employees have a more conducive working environment to better reinforce the quality of ministry services.

Yacob emphasized that the program showed the strong partnership between DAR XII and MAFAR “Today marks another milestone for MAFAR BARMM as we receive the DAR XII Regional Office Building and ink the Memorandum of Agreement for our Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries, Such ceremonies herald the commencement of further collaboration of the two agencies in the implementation of the Agrarian Reform Mandate.”
