CROP CUTTING PROGRAM, CONDUCTED BY MAFAR-LDS IN MASIU

A crop cutting ceremony was facilitated by the MAFAR in Barangay Apa Mimbalay, Masiu, Lanao del Sur on September 24, 2020.
The activity was done to collect significant information such as estimated yield including postharvest losses and possible sales that will further improve the precision of data gathering such as yield and production estimates.

It was also to complement the adoption of technologies in rice farming. Results showed that the rice yield obtained was 7,600 kilograms that is 7.6 tons per hectare, and higher than the national average. It exhibited 20% postharvest losses however, this can be lessened if machineries will be used such as thresher and harvester among others.
Further, the result promised an estimated net income of Php41,000 from the 4,800 square meters.
