FARMERS UNDER FFS GRADUATED ON CORN PRODUCTION MANAGEMENT

The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform – Corn Program held the Graduation Ceremony on Farmers’ Field School on Corn Production Management conducted at Barangay Wago, Lumbayanague, Lanao del Sur on April 5, 2021.

A total of 29 farmer participants successfully finished their 3 months course from November 4, 2020, to February 18, 2021.
Regional Corn focal person Akmad A. Abdullah said, “The ceremony was a result of the hard work and perseverance among the participants.”
“The ministry was doing its best to support every farmer for the growth of their economic condition and ensure that there is enough supply of food in every Bangsamoro community,” Abdullah added.

Their schooling comprises with sharing of technical know-how on corn production and good management.

Moreover, According to Lanao del Sur focal person on Agriculture Jamel D. Bacaraman, he said “After the 3-month session, the participants were able to learn management technique in corn production which include the selection of seeds to be planted, land preparation and harvesting activity.”

On the other hand, MAFAR Deputy Minister Ammal D. Solaiman in her short message expressed her support for all the graduates who work hard and actively participate in every session and hope that the technology gain by the farmer participants from the training will be useful for their farm.

Also, The graduates received 5 kilos of rice each, boots, hat, mug, and Certificate of Recognition. The distribution of the said assistance was administered by Lumbayanague MAFAR Municipal Officer Akima L. Dimapinto.
