Former Combatants from Maguindanao Receives Tilapia Fingerlings

Maguindanao – A total of 44,000 pieces of Tilapia fingerlings distributed by the Fisheries Sector of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR) to beneficiaries consists of former combatants’ members of Matibeg Farmers Association from Tanuel, D.O.S.

Held at MAFAR Freshwater Fish Farm & Hatchery, MSU Compound, Dalican, Datu Odin Sinsuat Maguindanao last April 15, 2021.

Director for Fisheries Services Dr. Macmod D. Mamalangkap headed the activity together with Hairodin T. Arap, Chief of Fisheries Research cum Technical Outreach Services.

Meanwhile, Dr. Mamalangkap said, “This is the second time we distributed fingerlings and MAFAR will continue to reach out to the fisherfolk thru its projects.”

“Nurture the stocks you have received and refrain from using illegal fishing,” Mamalangkap emphasized.

Mr. Haidar S. Akmad of Sapalan and a former combatant expressed his strong support to the program that they will benefit, and they no longer use electrocuting instead they switch to “tupada” or fishing for fish.
