MAFAR, AFP 6ID INAUGURATES TIENDA PARA SA MGA BAYANI

Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform Mohammad S. Yacob, Ph.D., and Chief of Staff of Armed Forces of the Philippines 6th Infantry Division CL Michael Santos inaugurated on Thursday, July 15, the TienDa Para Sa Mga Bayani.
The facility, constructed in front of RSBS Building, Camp Siongco, Awang, was funded by the Department of Agriculture in response to President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s declaration of DA’s Moral Obligations to make food available to every Filipino.
In a statement, Minister Yacob said, “This is an excellent venue to help the Farmers and Fisherfolks to have an outlet for their produce.”
“Tienda is an opportunity for a great project to uplift our Farmers and Fisherfolks, who have lesser access to commercial markets and provide a safer and more accessible marketplace for the AFP,” Yacob emphasized.
The construction of TieDa is amounting to Php 5000,000 with a 20 sq area.
Moreover, Colonel Santos said, “In the AFP, we launch series of TienDa Para Sa Mga Bayani in various Infantry Division and military camp all over the Philippines.
He said this project is a strategy to save soldiers in NPA-infested areas from senseless killing and supply available marketplace for AFP. And at the same time, farmers and fisherfolk can sell their product to the soldier
“Amidst the pandemic, we have to excerpt effort for our farmers and fisherfolk in this trying times,” Santos added.
In addition, TienDa Para Sa Mga Bayani will be implemented in different parts of the Bangsamoro Region in AFP camps.
