MAFAR AGRARIAN LEGAL OFFICE, RECOGNIZED AS TOP PERFORMING IN AR CASES RESOLUTION

In the recently concluded Agrarian Legal Services National Conference held in Cebu City on November 13-16, 2019, MAFAR-BARMM Agrarian Legal Services was recognized by the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) as one of the 2018 top 5 regions in the Philippines, with full compliance to the Zero Backlog Mandate of the Secretary.

The award was given in recognition of its efforts and exemplary performance in resolving legal agrarian cases of farmers and in implementing agrarian reform matters for the effective delivery of agrarian justice in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region.

DAR Secretary Atty. John R. Castriciones launched the Zero-Backlog Program when he assumed office to tackle cases that have accumulated during the previous administrations, in compliance with President Rodrigo R. Duterte’s directive to fast-track the cases under CARP implementation.

The challenge to resolve all pending cases before 2022 was posed by Sec. Castriciones to the Central and Field Offices of the Department.

In response to the zero-backlog program, then DAR-ARMM’s (now MAFAR-BARMM) regional and provincial legal divisions have resolved a total of 330 agrarian law implementation (ALI) cases pending in their dockets by the end of 2018. A total of 3,124 mediation cases were also accomplished by the region’s agrarian legal services.

The MAFAR Minister Dr. Mohammad S. Yacob lauded the Ministry’s regional and provincial agrarian legal services for the exemplary award received. “I am very proud of your accomplishments and may you continue to excel in providing agrarian justice to our farmer-beneficiaries,” he said.

The award was received by the Acting Head of the Agrarian Legal Services, Atty. Nerissa O. Dalig, and MAFAR-BARMM Provincial Legal Chiefs Atty. Anzarullah Zhadradi Abdullah, Atty. Madid Mama and Ms. Aida Tura.
