MAFAR Agricultural Extension Workers Receive Motorcycle from JICA

COTABATO CITY | April 8, 2021

As part of the support of the Japan International Cooperative Agency (JICA), the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform – BARMM hands in 438,000.00 worth of motorcycle to Agricultural Extension Workers on April 8, 2021.

Director for Agriculture Services, Engr. Ismail A. Guiamel led the turnover in the ministry’s premises on Friday.

Guiamel said these latest assets are part of the continuing support of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR) to further enhance the modernization program of the ministry.

We hope that with this assistance, it will boost the quality of our services and it’ll make it more efficient and easier to serve our Farmers and Fisherfolks in North Cotabato, thus, we ask you to take care of it.”

Accepting the motorcycle, Nurosalam Salim, OIC MMO Agriculturist I, promised to take heed of the assistance received. “By receiving this assistance from JICA and MAFAR, we promise to utilize it with utmost care. This is the beginning of a better life not just for us AEW, but to the farmers and fisherfolks of other hinterland barangays in North Cotabato as well.”

In connection to this, the said program is part of the deliverables on Implementation of Rice-Based Farming Technology Transfer Program under Capacity Development Program for Bangsamoro.

Present on the said turnover are 13 MAFAR Municipal Officers, Dr. Ronjamin Maulana, Provincial Director for Maguindanao, Norhid Wahab, Research Associate, Abdul Nasseef S. Ulong, Supervising Agriculturist, Samraida Undong, and Hoshi Hirofumi, Chief Advisor of CDPB via Zoom.
