MAFAR-BARMM HOLDS LCMS UPDATING AND CLEANSING TO ENSURE ZERO BACKLOG IN ROSOLVING AR CASES
For assurance of faster resolution and close monitoring of agrarian-related cases, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MAFAR-BARMM) conducted an updating and cleansing workshop on Legal Case Monitoring System (LCMS) among agrarian reform legal officers and LCMS focal persons of the ministry at Seda Abreeza Hotel, Davao City on November 5-6, 2019.
The activity, as facilitated by Ms. Sheila T. David from the Bureau of Agrarian Legal Assistance of DAR Central Office, was aimed at improving the LCMS focal persons’ skills in recording, monitoring and updating of reported agrarian-related cases to improve the reporting of Agrarian Legal Services (ALS) accomplishments and address the discrepancies of the reports between the Regional Office with the LCMS database.
MAFAR Minister Dr. Mohammad S. Yacob expressed his optimism for the actual and successful operation of the monitoring system.
“The LCMS would be of great help to the ministry in the speedy disposition of cases. Hopefully, with this initiative, we will finally achieve a zero backlog compliance”, said Minister Yacob.
He further lauded the legal officers and LCMS focal persons for doing their best to improve the agrarian justice delivery in the region. “We are here to assist the provincial offices in finding ways to solve their issues and concerns on agrarian cases”, he added.
The LCMS is a web-based internal system for recording and monitoring various kinds of agrarian cases at the provincial, regional and central offices of the Department of Agrarian Reform, including those lodged before judicial and quasi-judicial bodies. It provides the MAFAR-BARMM management an easy access to information on any agrarian reform case as the system enables them to efficiently keep track and determine the status of legal cases.
