First Formal Meeting with the MAFAR Municipal Officers (MMOs)

A huge change has been done in the merging of DAF (Department of Agriculture and Fisheries) and DAR (Department of Agrarian Reform) now tagged as MAFAR (Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform). This is one of the prioritize line agencies in the BARMM.

At the municipal level, before there were two municipal officers, the MAO (Municipal Agricultural Officer) under DAF and the MARO (Municipal Agrarian Reform Officer) under DAR. Now it has been fused to one municipal officer under MAFAR as MMO. This is a challenging and a game-changer role, as this MMO is going to deal with three divisions namely: agriculture, fisheries and agrarian reform in his municipality.

Proper orientation and timely coordination with them is very vital, as the consolidation of reports begins with them. Without their reports there will be no provincial reports. As for project implementation, they are the lead implementers in their respective municipalities.
