MAFAR CHIEF PARTICIPATES IN THE 145TH PARC EXCOM MEETING MAFAR

Minister Dr Mohammad S. Yacob has successfully made his first ever participation to the 145th Presidential Agrarian Reform Council Executive Committee (PARC ExCom) Meeting held at the OSec Boardroom, DAR Building, Elliptical Road, Diliman, Quezon City in January 31, 2020.

The meeting dealt on the approval of the minutes of the 144th PARC Excom meeting considering the matters arising from it as led by DAR Secretary and ExCom chairperson John R. Castriciones and PARC Secretariat Head Director James Arsenio O. Ponce, CESO V. Minister Yacob said the agenda also included the discussion and approval of the updates on the proposed tax amnesty for agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) and Case of Lanao del Sur (BARMM) and that of Bukidnon/Kalilangan-North Cotabato (LABUCO) Cooperatives Federation, Incorporated facilitated by PARC Council Secretary and DAR-LAO Undersecretary Atty. Luis Meinrado C. Pangulayan and DAR-SSO Undersecretary Atty. Emily O. Padilla, respectively.

The last but of equal significance agendum was the notation on the status of the coconut industry of the Philippines and PARCOM Accomplishment Report for CY 2018 and first semester of 2019 and highlights of the national conference of PARCOM chairpersons on October 15-18, 2019. The discussions were spearheaded by PCA OIC-Administrator Roel M. Rosales and Director Ponce.

Aside from the PARC officials and secretariat, the meeting was also attended by high ranking officials from NEDA, PHILCOMSAT, DA, DOF, DOLE, CDA, DOJ, DENR, DTI, DPWH, some observers and those representing the Land Owners (LOs) and Farmer Beneficiaries (FBs) sectors.
