MAFAR DELIVERS MACHINERY AND EQUIPMENT TO COOPERATIVES

COTABATO CITY | June 4, 2021

A ceremonial distribution of 4.7 million worth of agricultural machinery, equipment, and input to farmers in Maguindanao by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

It is led by Minister Mohammad S. Yacob, Ph.D., together with Engr. Ismail Guiamel, Director for Agricultural services, and Dr. Ronjamin Maulana, Provincial Director of Maguindanao, last June 4 at MAFAR Compound, BGC.

Minister Yacob stated, “This government is committed to support the beneficiaries; hence, they must take care of the equipment and make creative strategy for sustainability.”

Received by the respective cooperative chairman, the machinery and equipment awarded to farmer-beneficiaries include 16- units of rice thresher and two units hand tractor with trailer and rice transplanter. These were funded through the 2020 Bangsamoro Appropriation Act (BAA) with a total of P3.63M.

Moreover, the distribution of 550 bags of palay seeds worth P1.07M. The provision of palay seeds to farmers supports the implementation of the Department of Agriculture programs here in the Bangsamoro Region.

The Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) with 150 bags of inbred palay seeds and the Ahon Lahat, Pagkain Sapat (ALPAS) with 300 bags of inbred and 100 bags of hybrid palay seeds. Alpas is a project under DA’s plant, plant, plant program.

Lastly, Mohamidin Mustapha, Chairman of Ka-Ikhlas Layog Bridge Farmers Producer Cooperative, gave his message of commitment “Sa itinagal, ako’y nagpapasalamat sa inyong ibinigay at napakalaking tulong ito para sa amin.”
