MAFAR ENSURES MORE INTERVENTIONS THROUGH CONTRACT SIGNING

The MAFAR, with the leadership of Minister Mohammad S. Yacob, continues to ensure the availability and delivery of interventions to farmer-beneficiaries through another contract signing with its official supplier.

The signing was done between MAFAR and the UPIAN Agri Pinoy Farmers Producer Cooperative on April 29, 2020 at the MAFAR Conference Hall inside the Bangsamoro Government Center.

The contract stipulates the delivery of 7,995 bags of Certified Rice seeds under the El Niño Fund of the 2019 budget from the Department of Agriculture.

The UPIAN Cooperative is one of the two winning bidders who had the lowest calculated bid with a financial proposal of Php12, 120,420.00. It has also been one of the partners of MAFAR in producing high quality seeds for the target farmer-beneficiaries.

Minister Yacob said the agreement signed was a manifestation of partnership. He has hoped and prayed that the said partnership will grow and progress so that more farmers will benefit by receiving more interventions.

The MAFAR Chief then appreciated the SBAC members for their efforts in pursuing the procurement processes to ensure the timely delivery of the needed assistance. “It is good that this project persisted and its implementation still coincides with the planting season”, he added.

As an acknowledgement, Jonathan Acopio, Manager of the UPIAN, expressed his commitment to help the new government by providing high quality seeds to ensure the improvement of farmers in this generation. He also said one of his objectives is to promote agribusiness among farmers to increase their income and make their time more productive and beneficial.
