MAFAR-FRLED Conducts Training on Gun Safety and Marksmanship

MAGUINDANAO| April 13, 2021

Fishery Law Enforcement (FLE) officers of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform conducted its first “Gun safety and Marksmanship training” last 13-15 April 2021 at 6th Infantry (KAMPILAN) Division, in Brgy. Semba, Awang, Maguindanao.

The training aimed to have the personnel of MAFAR enhance their knowledge and skills in the use of service firearms while also learning and exhibiting gun discipline.

MAFAR- Minister Mohammad S. Yacob Ph. D. said, “Constant complaint of our fishermen is that they are an abuse of unlawful elements in our provinces.”

“If we pay attention to our law enforcers to focus on such training. Many will benefit from it down to our fisherfolks, that’s why we allocate funds to this certain program to reduce the oppression that occurs in fisher land,” Yacob stressed.

Norhata S. Dumasil, Senior Aquaculturist emphasized that this training will ensure to equip the law enforcers with the right mindset and scale up their ability to ensure its mandate.

After Ramadhan, Fishery Law Enforcement Officers of MAFAR will conduct various training in the ministry such as proper filling, scuba diving, and other physical extensive activities.

Moreover, Minister Mohammad S. Yacob Ph.D., Engr. Ismael Guiamel, Director II for Agriculture Services, Julie O. Maliga, RN MPASR Director II for Admin and Finance, and Dr. Macmod Mamalangcap, Director II for Fisheries Services were in attendance during the training.
