MAFAR, H7IB TURNOVERS AGRICULTURAL INPUT TO FARMERS IN ISULAN

Indigenous people and former rebels received Inbred Palay seeds and assorted vegetables from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform(MAFAR) in convergence with the Headquarters 7th Infantry (TAPAT) Battalion, Philippine Army.

Held at H7IB, Old Capitol, Brgy Kalawag II, Isulan, Sultan Kudarat, Wednesday, June 23.

MAFAR Minister Mohammad S. Yacob, Ph.D., said the ceremonial distribution is one of the programs of the ministry to uplift the lives of the people in the far-flung area.

The provision of palay seeds to farmers, supports the implementation of the Department of Agriculture programs, the Ahon Lahat, Pagkain Sapat (ALPAS) with 100 bags of Inbred Palay seeds and 100 packs of assorted vegetable received by the beneficiaries from Brgy. Bual Isulan and Brgy. Ilian Esperanza, Sultan Kudarat.

Meanwhile, LTC Romel S. Valencia INF (GSC) PA, Commanding Officer of 7IB, said the joint effort of MAFAR and the 7th Infantry Battalion is aimed to provide assistance to the livelihood of the beneficiaries who are at risk in the infiltration of the communist.

MAFAR-Maguindanao PD Ronjamin Maulana, Ph.D., said that even though Sultan Kudarat is outside the premises of BARMM, on behalf of the ministry’s mandate, we respond to the request of the farmers who seek technical assistance.

Kagawad Esmael Bandan, Committee on Agriculture of Barangay Council, thanked the MAFAR and H7IB for reaching out to help the farmers in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat to elevate their lives in terms of farming.

Moreover, the said distribution will be followed by training to be conducted by the ministry in July and August of this year.
