MAFAR-HALAL PROGRAM AND DEVELOPMENT CONDUCTS HALAL PROMOTION AND ADVOCACY ACTIVITY

To strengthen the Halal Food Industry within the Bangsamoro Region, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR), through Halal Program and Development, successfully conducted a Halal Promotion and Advocacy Activity held at Sitio Balas, Barangay Muti, Guindulungan, Maguindanao.

On August 17, one hundred sixty-five (165) farmers from the Municipality of Guindulungan, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Datu Anggal Midtimbang, Talayan, Datu Saudi Ampatuan, and Datu Salibo Maguindanao participated in the said event.

Engr. Lawan said, “The activity aims to enhanced the knowledge and awareness of participants on the concept of Halal, Halal Program in BARMM, Halal Certification, and Halal Food Regulatory System.”

Meanwhile, Director II for Agriculture Services Engr. Ismail A. Guiamel said that “we bring this Halal Promotion and Advocacy Activity in your community as directives of the BARMM Chief Minister Ahod B. Ebrahim to bring the Government closer to the community.”

“We held this Halal Advocacy as part of the banner program of the MAFAR to promote, advocate and develop a Halal Food Industry in the Bangsamoro Region,” Guimel added.

During the activity, Abdulmaoti Esmael, Community Affairs Officer of Darul-Ifta, discussed the Concept and Principles of Halal while Atty. Jamil L. Matalam, DA Halal Program Head, discussed the Halal Food Regulatory System and Engr. Saidona A. Lawan discussed the Halal Industry Development Program in BARMM and Halal Certification Protocol.

Moreover, Hon. Datu Midpantao M. Midtimbang, Municipal Mayor of Guindulungan, expressed his appreciation to the MAFAR-BARMM official for the continued support to the people of Maguindanao and the whole Bangsamoro Region.
