MAFAR IS NOW TO ISSUE FHC TO FISH SHIPPERS AND TRADERS

The MAFAR has started the process of issuing Fish Health Certificate (FHC) with a meeting with the Livefish Traders and Shippers from Cotabato City and Sultan Mastura yesterday, June 30, 2020.

Issues and concerns in the system of shipping were discussed in the first ever meeting held at the MAFAR Conference Hall.

Sittie Camalia Minandang, Fish Health Laboratory Incharge, said the shippers shall comply by sending needed samples for analysis starting next week. The ministry will analyze the samples and if results show that they are free from any disease, an FHC shall be issued.

The shippers thanked the MAFAR for including them in the invitation for meeting through which, they have understood their responsibilities as stakeholders and as partners for the improvement of the services of the new government.

According to Pendatun S. Patarasa, MAFAR Program Officer, the activity was the output of the meeting of the Fisheries Law Enforcement Group on June 25, 2020 after which Alimodin Bangcola, Fisheries Quarantine Officer has invited the shippers and traders for the meeting.
