MAFAR JOINS KASANGGA BATALLION IN THE SOFT LAUNCHING OF #GREENRESERVE PROJECT

The MAFAR, headed by Minister Mohammad S. Yacob, has responded to the invitation of the 6th Civil Military Operations (KASANGGA) Batallion, 6ID of the Philippine Army and graced the Soft Launching of the Project called #GreenReserve today (May 19, 2020) held at the camp in Pedro Colina Hill, Rosary Heights 1, Cotabato City.

With the theme “Manatili sa Bahay, Magtanim ng Gulay, Hahaba ang Buhay” the activity was the initiative of the military team in support to the drive to counter or lessen the effect of the Corona Virus Disease (COVID)-19 pandemic.

The program, that was also attended by MP Susana S. Anayatin, started with the warm welcome address delivered by LTC Edgardo L. Vilchez, Jr., followed by the messages of CDR Suharto M. Ambolodro PN (RES) (MNSA) and MR Bernard R. Sero.

In his message of inspiration, Minister Yacob emphasized the significance of working hard to attain food sufficiency and security in the Bangsamoro Region as one of the ways to get through the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. He also said that the initiative on #GreenReserve supports the “Plant, Plant, Plant Program of the Department of Agriculture.

The second part of the activity centered on the delivery of lectures on the different management techniques in vegetable production. These were shared by Dr Jalica D. Mangacop, HVCDP Consultant, Albaya S. Sagad, Organic Agriculture Program Focal Person, and Ramil Timpolok, HVCDP Focal Person, all of MAFAR.

A ceremonial turn over of vegetable seeds and gardening tools from MAFAR and planting of vegetable seedlings were done by the group of military men with the officials from the ministry.
