MAFAR Legal Services capacitates Legal Staff on ALI and Adjudication of AR cases

TAWI-TAWI – A training workshop on ALI and DARAB cases resolution, mediation, and conciliation cum seminar on strengthening the Barangay Agrarian Reform Council were conducted by the Legal Services of the MAFAR BARMM on March 13–16, 2023.

This was done as part of the mandate to provide assistance in the resolution of Agrarian Law Implementation (ALI) and adjudication of Agrarian disputes and cases.

The seminar, which was organized and conducted by MAFAR BARMM Legal Services under the supervision of Atty Nerrisa O. Dalig, Chief Legal Officer, and facilitated by Atty Haidisheena Allama, Chief Legal Division of MAFAR Tawi Tawi, aims to improve the participants’ legal and technical knowledge of ALI and DARAB cases, the fundamentals of mediation, as well as familiarization with the authority and duties of the BARC and its process flow.

Atty. Dalig emphasized the importance of ALI and the adjudication of AR cases. She professed that the discussions and lectures would capacitate the participants in gearing up for an unerring sense of direction when dealing with problematic landholdings. In addition, she discussed the updates on the Bangsamoro Agrarian Reform Adjudication Board (BARAB) on the 2nd day of the activity.

The guest resource speaker from DAR Region XII, Regional Agrarian Reform Adjudicator Atty. Hariz Jabbar P. Disocor provided presentations on the Agrarian Reform Law Implementation (ALI) cases, DARAB and processes, alternative dispute resolution, and technical writing as the highlight of the three-day activity.

Minister Mohammad S. Yacob, Ph.D., together with Provincial Director Aidarus Nami, visited the said activity after attending the CLOA distribution at Panglima Sugala Municipality.

The seminar ended with the awarding of certificates and tokens of appreciation to the speakers and expressed from the Bangsamoro Director General Taugan S Kikay.

Dir. Kikay expressed the importance of close collaboration between operations and legal services to effectively implement the Agrarian reform programs.

The activity was attended by the MAFAR BARMM Legal Officers; Atty Romaisah Hadji Mohsen from the regional office, Atty Johayra Ysmael of Lanao del Sur, Atty Sernash Hamid of Sulu, Atty Saliha Lalanto of Lanao del Sur, OIC-Chief Legal  Julamin Paglala of Maguindanao, Robert Alaine Lee of Basilan and Special Investigators and Legal Assistants from each province.
