PhilRice-JICA conducts a Farmers’ Field School (FFS) on Upland Rice- Based Farming Technology Transfer Program

With the active facilitation of the assigned MAFAR-Municipal Officer Rahima M. Abubacar, PhilRice-JICA through Agricultural Development Officer Bandao P. Bansilan Jr. conducted a Farmers’ Field School (FFS) on Upland Rice- Based Farming Technology Transfer Program for the Bangsamoro. It was held at Barangay Calaan and Oring, Buldon, Maguindano on February 16 to 17, 2021.

Agricultural Technicians Norhid O. Wahab and Satar Kamid of BARMMMIARC served as the resource persons in the said activity.
They were able to discuss the Introduction to Upland Rice Based Farming System and Concept and Principles of Palay Check System for Upland Rice Production .

Agricultural Development Samraida A. Undong of JICA inspired and challenged the farmer-participants on the messages that she shared in the activity.

According to MMO Abubacar, the rice farmer-recipients in the municipality were grateful to JICA, PhilRice, and MAFAR for implementing the project and hoping for every farmer to become self-reliant at the end of the project.
