MAFAR participates in the MSME week celebration

COTABATO CITY- In line with the celebration of the micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) week of MTIT, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform participated through the Agribusiness Marketing Assistance Division, Post-Harvest Division, and the Economic Development and Enterprise Support and conducted a one-day program on July 27, 2022, at City Mall.

Bangsamoro Director General for Fisheries Services Pendatun S. Patarasa said the activity is one of the most important activities because it is a manifestation of a strong partnership between the other ministry.

 He recognizes the effort and role of every farmer, fisherfolk, and ARB beneficiaries for securing food sustainability and urges more collaboration for a resilient community.

BDG Patarasa thanked MTIT for allowing the MAFAR to disseminate the necessary information to the beneficiaries widely.

Senior Aquaculturist Radma A. Isnani said the activity aims to introduce the ministry’s programs to the MSME regarding the different projects contained in the ministry, including the process and requirements on how to avail various programs and projects.

Different programs of the ministry have been presented, including Integrated and Sustainable Development for Aquaculture/Capture (ISDA), Basic Integration for Harmonized Intervention (BINHI), Land Distribution and Development for the Upliftment of Poor ARBs (LUPA), and the AMAD Programs.

Meanwhile, the cooking contest was also featured in the said activity; four groups participated and showcased their talent in cooking, including Yantakus Marketing Cooperative, Prince CJ, Magsaysay Women’s Association, and Sambiar Marketing Fisherfolk Multi-Purpose Cooperative. After thorough judging, Sambiar Marketing Fisherfolk Multi-Purpose Cooperative won the contest and received a cash prize.

The MSME was officially launched on Monday, July 27, 2022, showcasing the different exhibitors from the other ministries in Bangsamoro Region.
