MAFAR STRIVES TO MAKE THE FARMERS FEEL VALUED

In line with the Farmers and Fisherfolk’s Month Celebration this May, the MAFAR has delivered quality rice and corn seeds in Datu Piang, Maguindanao today (May 29, 2020)

Two hundred (200) bags of certified rice seeds with varieties NSIC Rc438 and NSIC Rc440 were distributed to the farmers in Barangay Reina Regente so with 100 bags of hybrid corn seeds with the variety Filipina 753.

For the farmers in Duaminanga Barangay of the same town, 160 bags of certified rice seeds were also given by the ministry through its Rice Program under the stewardship of Focal Person Tong A. Abas, assisted by BARMMIARC Center Manager Abdulnasseef S. Ulong, Provincial Agricultural Officer Abdulnasser K. Badawi and Municipal Agricultural Officer Sonora A. Dagadas.

The activity was also participated by the Corn Program Focal Person Akmad A. Abdullah and the inspectorate team of the MAFAR to ensure that the bags of seeds are complete and in best condition.

The unimpeded distribution of farm inputs amid COVID-19 pandemic follows the marching order of Minister Mohammad S. Yacob to continue empowering the farmers through bringing to them the support they need in their farming to ensure production in the Bangsamoro Region for food security in the coming months.
