MAFAR Turn over Regional Fisheries Research Center, Farm Machineries, Distributes Agricultural Inputs

A milestone in the history of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform Tawi-Tawi and the whole region, the Turn-over of MAFAR Regional Fisheries Research Center and Farm Machineries and Agricultural Inputs’ Distribution, held at Barangay Pagasinan, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi last April 7, 2021.

Dignified and highly respected personalities in BARMM led by Chief Minister, Hon. Ahod B. Ebrahim; MAFAR Minister, Hon. Dr. Mohammad S. Yacob; MBHTE Minister, Hon. Mohagder Iqbal; MP Hon. Eddie M. Alih; and other Ministers graced the occasion. Hon. Governor Yshmael I. Sali of Tawi-Tawi, Hon. Mayor Jimuel S. Que of Bongao, Beloved Chancellor Mary Grace Guinto-Sali, and other local personalities in the province of Tawi-Tawi were in attendance witnessing the event. MAFAR Tawi-Tawi led by its Provincial Director, Aidarus I. Nami was also in full force.

The MAFAR Regional Research Center is composed of a seaweeds and fish health laboratory, hatchery for finfish, abalone, and a training center and dormitory.

The said Research Center will address the issues and concerns on fisheries production and provide new technologies to increase the volume and value of fishery products and other aquatic resources not only in Tawi-Tawi but in the entire region as well.

Meanwhile, different Agricultural Inputs and types of machinery such as hand tractor with trailer, cassava chipper, shredder, coffee hauler, incubator, pelletizing machine, pump irrigation open source, power sprayer, rice seeds, fertilizers, and insecticides were also distributed to the different farmer-beneficiaries in the province.
