The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR) is committed to expanding the Research Centers to provide more effective training for Bangsamoro farmers and fisherfolk development.

On Friday, July 2, 2021, MAFAR minister Mohammad S. Yacob, Ph.D., and Deputy Minister Ammal D. Solaiman, together with the MAFAR Regional and Provincial Directors, visited Mindanao State University (MSU) in Tawi-Tawi.

The visit aimed to strengthen the MAFAR-MSU Collaboration in Fisheries and Aquaculture Research.

“The region success starts from the good Research; that’s why we are fully committed to giving what we can for the success of Research Center not just in Tawi-Tawi but in the whole Bangsamoro Region,” Minister Mohammad S. Yacob, Ph.D., said.

“In MAFAR, we don’t consider you as our partner; we see you as our kaMAFARmilya because we can not attain the noble purpose of this Research Center without the experts coming from your Institution,” he added.

Meanwhile, MSU-Tawi-Tawi, headed by Chancellor Mary Joyce Z. Guinto-Sali, Ph.D., is an existing partner of MAFAR in Research that more specialized in the Fisheries and Aquaculture Industry.
