MAFARLENGKE IS UP AT THE MAFAR-BARMM COMPOUND

You can now buy goods at a lower price at the Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD) of the ministry as part of the rigid implementation of the MAFAR Local Exchange and Network of Goods in any Kind of Emergency (MAFARLENGKE).

Datu Hamsur J. Zaid, MAFAR AMAD Chief, announced that rice (from NFA) and sugar are now available at the AMAD display corner at just the price of Php27 per kilogram (kg) and Php32/kg, respectively.

To avoid possible hoarding, every customer or household for this matter is allowed to buy 3-5 kg of rice and 2-3 kg of sugar.

Everyone shall also be obliged to observe precautionary measures and protocols against COVID-19 infection. These include wearing of face mask and observance of social distancing.

Aside from the popular recipes of squash, one must also try the simplest to prepare and appetite boosting “Fried Squash” snack.

For this, loads of squash from a farmer in General SK Pendatun, Maguindanao are also available at the compound. With the unexpected problem that happened during marketing, Zaid said the ministry, through the AMAD, has resorted to help the farmer sell his produce. Small ones are sold at Php15/piece and the big ones can be bought at Php20/piece.

The MAFARLENGKE strategy or approach is in consonance with Minister Mohammad S. Yacob’s advocacy and direction to empower the farmers and the consumers at the same time.

“We must seek and implement ways and means to help our farmers market their produce and earn and at the same time, ease the burden of our consumers by giving them access to affordable goods and commodities”, Minister Yacob said.
