PRDP-BARMM RCPO, PPMIU PROVIDE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND GUIDANCE TO PGs IN MAGUINDANAO

With the end goal of ensuring the proper and meaningful implementation of projects among proponent groups (PGs), the Regional Project Coordination Office (RPCO) of the Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) – BARMM and the Provincial Planning Monitoring and Implementation Unit (PPMIU) of Maguindanao provided series of technical assistance to PGs on August 26-27, 2020.

Four PGs in Maguindanao with the “Goat Multiplication, Fattening and Marketing” subprojects, under the I-REAP component, were benefited by these activities.

The team, led by Sheryl Baganian, Procurement Officer, assisted the PGs in the procurement process and made sure that the items are procured based on the approved Program of Works and Detailed Engineering Design for Kalian Bangsamoro Women’s Agri Marketing Cooperative in Brgy. Kalian, Mangudadatu.

The procured items were quantified and evaluated to assure the good quality of the materials. Geotagged photos of the procured materials were taken by Suharto Dalig, Geo-mapping and Governance Unit (GGU) Officer.

To properly support the recipient PGs, the PPMIU and RPCO also started the weekly inspection on the physical accomplishments for Badak Multi-Purpose Cooperative in Brgy. Bulod, General Salipada K. Pendatun and Lumpingan Agri-Preneur Marketing Cooperative in Brgy. Mileb, Rajah Buayan.

The joint team provided necessary technical supervision in the construction of the goat house.
Results showed that both PGs exceeded their target physical accomplishments for the first week of the 46-calendar-day construction.

Some minor issues and concerns relating to agricultural and civil work aspects were raised and resolved through the recommendations of the joint team, with the guidance of PPMIU-Maguindanao I-REAP Focal Person Engr. Jedhani Ulangkaya and RPCO I-BUILD Rural Infrastructure Specialist Engr. Michael Anggol, with Rural Infrastructure Engineers Salipada Quituar, Jr. and Bolkiah Mamadsual.

With the ministry’s effort to strengthen the partnership with the LGUs, the joint team paid courtesy visit to the Municipal Local Government Unit of Sultan Sa Barongis with security assistance from the 33rd Infantry Division.

Led by Suhayra Subod, RPCO I-REAP Business Development Officer, the team proceeded with the monitoring of the two-hectare forage requirement for Mawalao MNLF Multi-Purpose Cooperative in Brgy. Gadungan, Sultan Sa Barongis. The proposed relocation site for the goat house construction was identified and initially assessed by the team.

The joint team is positive that the ongoing implementation of the subproject will become successful with the coordinated efforts of the PPMIU Maguindanao, RPCO-BARMM and the other stakeholders.
