PRDP I-REAP WITNESSING PROJECT TURN-OVER, CONDUCTS PG ENTERPRISE MONITORING ACTIVITIES

One subproject of seasweeds production and marketing in Tawi-Tawi was successfully turned over according to the PRDP IREAP RPCO team who conducted monitoring activities on March 27-30, 2021.

The subprojects were implemented by the proponent groups of Kasambuhan Ma Kauman Tapian Sokah, Balimbing Seaweeds Farmers and Fisher folks, Tong Tampakan Fisherfolks Marketing Cooperative, Tawi-Tawi Movement for Peace and Unity Service Cooperative and Inah Tawi-Tawi Farmers Association, Inc.

Several community orientations and subprojects pre- validations were also completed. Two cooperatives in Barangay Kepeng and one cooperative in Barangay Tandubato both from Municipality of Tandubas showed interests in availing seaweeds production projects.

However, the procurement for the three subprojects were rescheduled on April 14-16, 2021.

Along with these, the team also conducted turnover of the completed subproject in Tandubas, Tawi-Tawi on March 28, 2021.

Present during the turnover were the PG members and the administrative officer of the Local Government Unit of Tandubas, Hadja Honeylet Vipinosa along with other LGU employees.

The activity was witnessed by the team from Regional Project Coordinating Office (RPCO); Michael Ian Sastrillo, Suhayra Subod and Raimah Amba (IREAP Team), Sheryl Baganian (Associate Procurement Officer) and Michael Malbas (Associate Monitoring and Evaluation Officer).

“We were waiting for this moment and it finally arrived,” said PG president, Sitti Suara Halun on her message to the spectators.

The proponent group has expressed their gratitude and commitment to continue the project aiming for its success.
