SUCCESSFUL MANGROVE PLANTING ACTIVITY AT BARANGAY BUHANGINAN, PATIKUL, SULU

A total of 6,000 pieces of mangrove propagules were planted along the shoreline of Barangay Buhanginan, Patikul, Sulu, Wednesday, April 28.

A conjoint effort of the Fisheries Coastal Resources and Livelihood Development (FishCORAL) project of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR) & 6th Special Forces Battalion.

The activity is under the Coastal Resources Management (CRM) component
of the FishCORAL Project which aims to replenish the depleted mangrove areas in BARMM through mangrove rehabilitation projects.

Moreover, fifteen (15) members of the Buhanginan Women’s Association is the identified PO beneficiary of the activity.

Present during the activity is MAFAR Sulu Fisheries Services OIC Ms. Virginia Arreza, OIC MMO, LTC Rafael P Caido, (GSC) INF PA, Hadja Hadija Samsarani, battalion officers, and CAFGU trainees.
