Tandubas farmers, fisherfolk to benefit from five other infrastructures under PRDP I-BUILD SPs
TAWI-TAWI- The farmers and fisherfolks from the Municipality of Tandubas will soon benefit and improve their agricultural productivity after the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform – Philippine Rural Development Project – Regional Project Coordination Office BARMM breaks the ground on the construction of five infrastructure projects at Municipality of Tandubas.
On January 16, Deputy Project Director Ammal D. Solaiman, JD, and Municipal Mayor of Tandubas, Hon. Al-Shahid A. Salih led the groundbreaking ceremony of the five other infrastructure projects under the PRDP Intensified Building Up of Infrastructure and Logistics for Development (I-BUILD) Subprojects.
The projects were funded under the PRDP Second Additional Financing and European Union Co-financing Grant (AF2-EU), named “Construction of Sallangan Potable Water System Level II, Construction of Kepeng Warehouse with Solar Dryer, Construction of Kepeng Fish Landing with Concrete Footbridge, Construction of Tongbangkaw Fish Landing, and Consideration of Tapian Sokah Footbridge.”
Hon. Al-Shahid Salih expressed his gratitude to MAFAR and PRDP for approving the proposed projects to help increase the economic growth of the farmers and fisherfolks of Tandubas Municipality.
“Rest assured that the LGU Tandubas will be closely monitoring the implementation of the project to make it beneficial for our farmers and fisherfolks,” Mayor Salih emphasized.
The projects not only increase the economic growth of the residents of Tandubas but also ensure they can access safe water resources. Through the Potable Water System Level II, the residents of Tandubas will be safe from the incidence of water-borne diseases and ease their time fetching water.
Meanwhile, DPD Solaiman commended the Municipal Local Government Units of Tandubas for its very active performance in compliance with all eligibility requirements to avail projects on the PRDP.
“We are looking forward to more partnerships for the economic development of Tandubas, and I pray to Allah (S.W.T) that at the end of the day, all our efforts will be part of our good deeds,” DPD Solaiman reiterated.
The construction of the projects are expected to be completed after nine months, depending on the weather conditions, said Engr. Ma. Fe Gabunales, Project Support Office Mindanao I-BUILD Component Head.
In addition, MAFAR Provincial Director of Tawi-Tawi Aidarus I. Nami, Ed.D. and Municipal Engineer of Tandubas Engr. Jalalie J. Mustapha also witnessed the groundbreaking ceremony.
