The MAFAR distributed more than 90,000 Tilapia fingerlings to fisherfolk-members of 34 cooperatives in the Province of Maguindanao.

The activity was carried out at the MAFAR Fresh Water Fish Farm and Hatchery inside the Mindanao State University (MSU) in Dalican, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao.

Geared towards progressive fish production and livelihood enhancement among the fisherfolk, the distribution was facilitated by the ministry’s fisheries sector led by Pendatun S. Patarasa, OIC of the Fish Production Division (FPD), and Hairodin T. Arap, OIC for Fisheries Services with the assistance of the MAFAR aquaculturists.

The activity was also actively participated by Dr Macmod D. Mamalangkap, Focal Person for the 63 Barangays of BARMM in North Cotabato, Abdulnasser K. Badawi, Provincial Head of MAFAR Maguindanao, Prof. Greta M. Noquilla, RFT, Dean of the College of Fisheries at MSU-Maguindanao, and Esmail Macalimbang, OIC-Manager of the MAFAR Fish Farm and Hatchery.
