WORKSHOP FOR PLANNING AND BUDGETING FOR CY 2021 CONDUCTED BY PPMED-MAFAR

February 6-10, 2021

 

General Santos City- Participants from the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR) have undergone a five (5) day Workshop on Planning and Budgeting to enhance their proficiencies in planning the budget for 2021 for efficient implementation of the programs.

The workshop was held at Sun City Suites, General Santos City from February 6-10, 2021 and conducted by The Policy Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Division (PPMED) – MAFAR.

MAFAR Budget Officer Almira Danda, presented the total and breakdown for each sectors, division and section (general admin and support, operations: general operations to support to Agri-Fishery marketing, provision to farmers and fisherfolks, Regional and Provincial office materials, technical advisory and support programs).

The workshop focuses on the overview of the current status of Work Financial Plan (WFP), Project Procurement Management Plan (PPMP) and Budget Execution Documents (Financial Plan, Physical Plan and Monthly Disbursement Program) of sectors, division, section and provincial offices that aims to provide proper distributions of funds in projects to be implemented for CY 2021.

MAFAR Minister Dr. Mohammad S. Yacob delivered his welcoming address, stating, “My courtesy and respect to all of the participants. I am grateful that our budget will be utilized for 2021 in MAFAR. We want everything in our workshop to be finished on time, for us to increase our performance and willingness since it’s our goal to facilitate and support the livelihood of the farmers and fisherfolks in region-wide hence the participants should focus on the workshop.”

“MAFAR commitment is to serve the people, so I’m urging the participants to give importance in planning and budgeting for GAA 2021,” Minister Yacob added.

Meanwhile, The Agriculture Sector, Fisheries Sector, Agrarian Reform Sector, Legal Division, Engineering Division, Budget Division, Information, Communication and Technology Section were the attendees of the MAFAR region and representatives from provincial offices are Maguindanao, Lanao del Sur, Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi and the 63 Barangays of North Cotabato.

Also present during the training were MAFAR consultants Dr. Jalika O. Mangacop for Agriculture Sector, Mr. Moses I. Pangilamen for Fisheries Sector, Hadji Sukarno M. Andal for Agrarian Sector.
