The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR) in Lanao del Sur has started distributing financial subsidies to Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs), with the first batch released on January 12, 2025, at the MAFAR Office in Marawi City.
The program, funded under the 2024 Supplemental Fund, aims to support ARBs and ARBOs in enhancing their livelihoods and agricultural productivity. The initiative was spearheaded by the Agrarian Reform Service Division, led by CARPO Rocaina A. Mindalano-Camar, in partnership with the Admin and Finance Section, headed by Chief Baisanie P. Unda.
The program targets 2,000 beneficiaries, including ARBs and farmer-members from MILF camps, each receiving 5,000 pesos. A total of 1,000 beneficiaries have already received the cash assistance.
The event was graced by key MAFAR officials, including Provincial Director Atty. Khalid D. Ansano, Deputy Minister Aisah A. Sanggacala, Ph.D., and chiefs of MAFAR Lanao del Sur. Member of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority MP Marjanie S. Macasalong also attended and shared an inspiring message.
Atty. Khalid D. Ansano emphasized that while the financial subsidy is a significant support, it is not the sole key to progress. He encouraged beneficiaries to guide their children in developing practical skills and adopting a growth mindset to secure a brighter future.
Deputy Minister Aisah A. Sanggacala expressed gratitude to the beneficiaries for their resilience and recognized the dedication of MAFAR Lanao del Sur personnel, who worked tirelessly to make the program possible.
The release of subsidies for Batch 1 marks the beginning of MAFARβs ongoing efforts to empower agrarian reform beneficiaries and advance agricultural development in the province.
