In a continuous stride towards advancing research development and execution services, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform held another groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of an Admin Office Building in Barangay Lakit-Lakit, Bongao, Tawi-Tawi on April 24.
Supervised by Abdul Naseep Ulong, the Supervising Agriculturist and Manager of BARMM Integrated Agriculture and Fisheries Research Center, along with the Regional Engineering Division, the ceremonial groundbreaking marked the commencement of the construction project aimed at bolstering research, extension, and service delivery for agricultural development in Tawi-Tawi.
In his message, Manager Ulong underscored the pivotal role of such facilities in advancing agricultural technologies tailored to the specific needs and demands of Tawi-Tawi province.
“This facility is expected to become a center for the dissemination and development of technologies aligned with the local culture and the province’s priority commodities,” said Ulong.
The establishment of this facility is anticipated to foster the development of unique methodologies that resonate with the local culture and address the priority commodities in the area.
Furthermore, Dr. Aida Jumli, the Chief Agriculturist of Tawi-Tawi Provincial Office, conveyed full support for the project on behalf of Provincial Director Aidarus Nami, Ed.D.
The construction of the admin office building is slated to be completed within six months, promising improved infrastructure to support agricultural research and outreach efforts.
The ceremony was attended by representatives from J-Sand Construction and Supply, Barangay Lakit-Lakit officials, and key officials from MAFAR Tawi-Tawi demonstrating widespread support and collaboration for the initiative.
