In a continuous effort to boost agricultural productivity in the Bangsamoro region, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform, through the Special Development Fund (MAFAR-SDF) conducted a turnover ceremony of 10 units of farm tractors on July 23, 2024, at the MAFAR Fisheries Outreach Station in Marantao, Lanao del Sur.
Atty. Khalid D. Ansano, Provincial Director of MAFAR-Lanao del Sur led the turnover ceremony of the 10-unit farm tractors to various cooperatives from different municipalities across Lanao del Sur.
In his message, Atty. Ansano encouraged the farmers to take good care of the machinery and maximize its use to enhance the agricultural areas in the province.
“Along with the turnover of these farm tractors comes the responsibility to maintain its good condition and use it to boost rice production in the region,” Atty. Ansano said.
With these vital farm machinery, the Bangsamoro Government hopes that it would ease the farming process for the farmers and contribute to the continuous growth of the Bangsamoro economy.
The cooperatives that received farm tractors include Marohomsidic Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Pangian Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Bacolod Agri Farm Producers Cooperative, Paramanis Ko Enged Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Polo Pindolonan Marketing Cooperative, Balindong and Cormatan Farmers Producers Cooperative, Lumba-Bayabao II MILF Agriculture Cooperative, Barangay Ilian Agriculture Marketing Cooperative, Isang Bangsa Agri Aqua Producers Cooperative, and MNLF Unayan Farmers Marketing Cooperative.
The farmers coops expressed their gratitude to the Bangsamoro Government, led by Chief Minister Ahod B. Ebrahim, Al-hadj, and MAFAR Minister Mohammad S. Yacob, Ph.D., for their continuous support in uplifting the livelihoods of farmers and fishermen.
“Your steadfast support to the communities is a testament that the Bangsamoro Government remains committed to improving the lives of every Bangsamoro people,” said Zackie Latif, chairman of Isang Bangsa Agri Aqua Producers Cooperative.
The successful ceremonial turnover was attended by key officials from MAFAR-Lanao del Sur, the SDF Project Management Office, MAFAR-SDF officers and staff, representatives from the Local Government Units of Marantao, and members of the cooperatives.
