MAGUINDANAO DEL NORTE – The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform officials cited the benefits of the administration building for the Research Outreach Station (ROS) during the groundbreaking ceremony on January 31 held at Barangay Mirab, Upi.Tong A. Abas, Director II for Research Development and Extension Services at MAFAR emphasized the crucial role of the administration building in enhancing the Research Development and Extension Services. The facility is envisioned to serve as a hub for knowledge exchange, innovation, and collaborative efforts among experts in the field.
Bangsamoro Director General for Agriculture Services, Daud K. Lagasi, Ph.D., underscored the mutual relationship between research and development. “There is no development without research,” he highlighted, emphasizing that the station would serve as a learning institution for researching various commodities, ultimately benefiting local farmers and fisherfolk.
Dr. Nympha Sapan of Upi Agricultural School expressed support and appreciation, stating, “This is a significant aid for Upi Agricultural School students and the community here and throughout the Bangsamoro region. This station will define what we have here and what BARMM can proudly showcase.”
On the same day, MAFAR also initiated ceremonial groundbreakings for essential facilities in other areas. In Barangay Muti, Guindulungan, an Animal Housing Facility for Goats was announced, while in Barangay Manungkaling, Mamasapano, a similar facility for ducks was unveiled. These projects align with MAFAR’s commitment to holistic development, ensuring that various aspects of agriculture receive the attention they deserve.
