COTABATO CITY – Minister Mohammad S. Yacob, Ph.D., and MAFAR officials headed the ceremonial ribbon-cutting that marked the official opening of the MAFARamadhan Fair at the Bangsamoro Government Center.
The Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD) of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform has conducted the activity of the celebration with Ramadhan 2024 in which MAFARamadhan offers a whole month activity of selling fresh and nutritious agriculture and fisheries products directly from farms.
Minister Yacob said during the opening program, “As we officially open the 2024 MAFARamadhan, my appreciation to our exhibitors, especially to the cooperative heads in always including MAFAR as your partner towards economic development in the region.”
The main goal of this activity is to increase farmers, fisherfolk, and ARB’s income while providing facilities for them to showcase the unique products of the Bangsamoro people, Minister Yacob emphasized.
MAFARamadhan aimed to help the cooperative market their products and encouraged them to participate in selling their products at a very reasonable price to help also the constituents of BARMM have access to healthy, affordable prices of agriculture and fishery products.
Moreover, Director General for Agriculture Services Daud K. Lagasi, Ph.D. said, “The opening of MAFARamadhan is one of the important activities of the ministry during the observance of Ramadhan, and I would like to appreciate our farmers, fisherfolk, and agrarian reform beneficiaries for participating and showcase their local products.”
He also urges the employees of BARMM and citizens to patronize the different products of the Bangsamoro region.
Director General for Fisheries Services Pendatun S. Patarasa, MPA, said, “The Fisheries Services fully supported the exhibitors and small businesses because you are the reason, we have the MAFARamadhan. From this, we must strive harder for you to have MAFARaming kita.”
In the future, our beneficiaries realize that the government is here all the time, especially MAFAR, to give importance to small-scale businesses in agri-fishery and arb’s, he added.
The MAFARamadhan is open from 3:30 PM to 10:00 PM until the very end of the observance of 2024 Ramadhan.
