MAFAR AIDS FIRE VICTIMS IN SULU THROUGH TABANG PROGRAM

Prioritizing the victims of the conflagration that happened a month ago, the MAFAR has extended assistance to the residents of Jolo, Sulu today, through the BARMM’s 5th round of Tulong Alay sa Bangsamorong Nangangailangan (TABANG) Program .

The ministry distributed fishing paraphernalia to identified fishers especially those affected by the big fire that happened on February 3, 2020 ravaging houses of more than 2000 families in the villages of Takut-Takut, Tulay, and Chinese Pier.

According to Coordinator Dr Macmod Mamalangcap, the team from MAFAR, headed by Minister Dr Mohammad S. Yacob, was able to distribute 120 sets of Tuna Handline, 41 sets of long jigger lines with hook (for capturing squid and octopus), 43 sets gill nets, and 10 engines.

Extended employees of MAFAR-Sulu and volunteers helped in ensuring the success of the activity by organizing the recipients and assisting in the actual distribution.

The activity was spearheaded by the Office of the Chief Minister led by Interim Chief Minister Ahod Balawag Ebrahim himself and participated by all the other ministries under the Bangsamoro Region through extending varied assistance and services to the communities.
