COTABATO CITY – To ensure the efficient and transparent allocation of resources, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform conducted a two-day workshop on the formulation of Budget Execution Documents (BEDs) and the Project Procurement Management Plan (PPMP) for FY 2025 and the 2024 extended fund on January 28 and 30, 2025.
Spearheaded by Minister Mohammad S. Yacob, Ph.D., along with Deputy Minister Aisah S. Abdullah, Ph.D., the event emphasized the importance of strategic and transparent planning to ensure that programs and projects are properly implemented in support of the constituents.
The Office of the Administrative and Finance Management Service and the Planning, Policy, and Monitoring Division led the activity, gathering at least 98 key officials and staff from MAFAR’s various regional and provincial offices.
Minister Yacob expressed his hope that this year would bring improvements in the ministry’s strategic planning for utilizing funds to support the development of Bangsamoro farmers, fisherfolk, and agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs).
“I am hoping and expecting all of MAFAR’s divisions and services to consider the needs of all the beneficiaries by addressing their concerns in improving their livelihoods,” he added.
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister Abdullah underscored the ministry’s commitment to efficiency and sustainability in implementing agricultural programs and services.
She also reiterated that funds must be properly utilized to support farmers, fisherfolk, and agrarian reform beneficiaries.
One of the highlights of the event was the presentation by key resource persons who are experts in budgeting and planning. The presentations included the Approved GAAB 2025, the Work and Financial Plan (WFP) 2025 with provincial allocation, and the BEDs and PPMP templates.
During the workshop, each of MAFAR’s services engaged in an interactive presentation of BEDs and PPMP for FY 2025 to strengthen financial planning for the improvement and development of the ministry’s programs and projects.
MAFAR will continue to monitor and assess the implementation of the formulated BEDs and PPMP to further enhance service delivery in the region.
