The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform – Regional Engineering Division, in collaboration with the Research Development and Extension Services, has officially begun the construction of an Admin Office Building for the Research Outreach Station in Basilan and Sulu Province after the successive groundbreaking ceremonies.
On February 21, MAFAR-BASILAN Provincial Director Hanie Muadz A. Junuban and OIC for Research Outreach Station Abdullah A. Harrudain witnessed the groundbreaking ceremony for the Admin Office Building in Santa Clara, Lamitan City, Basilan.
Meanwhile, on February 23, MAFAR-SULU Provincial Director Engr. Alfie U. Irribani, together with OIC for Research Outreach Station Abdul Aziz Haipe, attended the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the same Admin Office Building in Capitol Site, Jolo, Sulu.
According to Badrudin Ismael, Farm Superintendent II of the MAFAR Research Development and Extension Services, the admin office building has a total cost of five (5) million pesos funded under the National Rice Program. It consists of a two-story building with a conference room expected to be completed within six months.
The provincial directors of Basilan and Sulu expressed their support and gratitude as, for the first time, there will be an Admin Office Building for Research Outreach Station in the provincial offices, strengthening their capacity to promote programs and projects under the Research Development and Extension Services.
It is expected that similar activities will be carried out in the coming days in the provinces of Tawi-Tawi and Lanao del Sur.
