COTABATO CITY – At least 26 members of the Bangsamoro Regional Agriculture and Fishery Council attended the regular consultation meeting and sectoral consultation meeting on the fishery.
The activity was spearheaded by BRAFC Chairperson Dr. Salik B. Panalunsong, Director General for Fisheries Services Pendatun S. Patarasa, MPA and BRAFC Coordinator Esmael S. Satol, Ph.D.
BFAFC CHAIR Panalunsong said, “I welcome all the participants to our regular consultation meeting wherein we focus to identify and address issues in the agriculture and fishery sectors while providing policy recommendations for improvement.
BRAFC Coordinator Satol delivered his message on behalf of Minister Mohammad S. Yacob, Ph.D, and said this meeting is important. Our cooperation is a manifestation everybody is interested in and willing to develop to help our farmers and fisherfolk.
Meanwhile, DG Patarasa said, “This is an opportunity for the BRAFC and Fisheries Services to work together for the Bangsamoro. We need to intensify our partnership since the key role of the private sector in BARMM is high and very valuable for the economy.”
“The private sector and the government have the same objectives in which to boost the economy of BARMM and also it must be sustained, he added.
Also, DG Patarasa presented the fisheries priority agenda, highlighting the significance of the fisheries sector in BARMM, the current situation, socio-economic direction, project implementation plans, key milestones, opportunities, and priority programs for fisheries.
