LANAO DEL SUR – Farmers in Barangay Parao, Kapai, are set to benefit from a new Multipurpose Drying Pavement, expected for completion within 60 days after a recent groundbreaking ceremony held on June 13 at Barangay Parao, Kapai, Lanao del Sur.
According to Senior Science Research Specialist Guiapar Esmael, “This Multipurpose Drying Pavement will provide farmers with a dedicated space to dry their crops efficiently.”
Supervising Agriculturist Engr. Saif Gasanara of MAFAR-Lanao del Sur highlighted the project’s significance, stating, “This project will ensure our farmers can dry their produce properly and reduce harvest losses due to the lack of drying facilities.”
The initiative, under the Nationally Funded Project, aims to enhance local drying facilities and is implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform, emphasizing collaboration with the Parao Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative.
Engr. Mastura Abdul encouraged coop members to be actively involved in the project implementation and help monitor closely for successful execution, which will benefit all farmers in Barangay Parao.
The groundbreaking ceremony, attended by regional engineering teams, Research Development and Extension Services, MAFAR-LDS, and cooperative members.
