ZAMBOANGA CITY – To improve the effectiveness of MAFAR Municipal Officers (MMOs) and field personnel, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR) conducted a capacity training on Land Acquisition and Distribution Cum Support Services, Agri-Fishery Legal Operations from May 28-30.
Director General for Agrarian Reform Taugan S. Kikay, Ph.D., emphasized the importance of capacitating the MMOs and field personnel, particularly for the challenging Agrarian Reform programs.
“It’s essential for us to be well-capacitated in every rule and program of MAFAR to ensure smooth implementation in the community,” said DG Kikay.
The activity focused on orientation and a workshop on agrarian reform services, particularly land tenure services and land acquisition and distribution.
The officers were also oriented on the implementation protocols and guidelines of the BINHI and ISDA program and the Halal Compliants Production and Development. These programs are crucial for providing support and services to farmers and fisherfolk.
Key officials from MAFAR’s regional and provincial offices also attended the training, showing their commitment to enhancing the skills and knowledge of their personnel.
By equipping the MAFAR officers with the necessary skills and knowledge, MAFAR aims to ensure that each program is effectively implemented, benefiting the agricultural, fishing, and agrarian reform communities in the Bangsamoro region.
