MAGUINDANAO DEL NORTE – To safeguard and ensure the efficiency of agri-fishery inputs, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR) breaks ground for the construction of a storage facility in the BARMM Integrated Agriculture and Fisheries Research Center, on January 8.
Director II for Research Development and Extension Services, Tong A. Abas led the groundbreaking ceremony held at BARMMIAFRC, Simuay, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao del Norte.
“The establishment of this storage facility is a significant leap towards ensuring the safety and efficiency of our Agri-fishery inputs that will play a crucial role in sustaining a steady and secure supply, contributing to the overall progress of farming and fisheries communities in the Bangsamoro region,” said Director Abas.
The storage facility, boasting a total area of 16×25 meters, is designed to accommodate 10,000 bags of agri-fishery products, addressing the pressing need for secure and efficient storage.
Engr. Ashnaira A. Abdullah, Chief of the MAFAR Engineering Division, also emphasized the significance of improving facilities to better serve Bangsamoro farmers, fisherfolks, and Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries.
Moreover, the ceremonial groundbreaking was attended by MAFAR officials, including Chief Science Research Specialist Ismael Satol, Ph.D., BARMMIAFRC Manager Abdul Nasseef Ulong, representatives from the project contractor, and other BARMMIAFRC officers and staff.
