To implement programs and projects for the Agrarian Reform Communities in the region, the Social Infrastructure Building Division of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform has successfully conducted a four-day activity of Agrarian Reform Community Development Plan Formulation Workshop at Koronadal City on June 18 – 21.
The ARC Development Plan is a comprehensive/holistic picture of the situation of the ARC, the people living in a particular ARC, and their aspirations for development. It serves as a guide and basis for any development intervention in the area.
Director General for Agrarian Reform Services Taugan S. Kikay, Ph.D., said, “This is one of the important activities of MAFAR, particularly the Agrarian Reform Services, because this is the time we need to understand and appreciate the importance of having a comprehensive, accurate, and updated ARCDP.
This training hones our skill to be ready at all times and to provide the needs of our beneficiaries, DG Kikay added.
He said, “I believe all the participants will be giving their time and effort to acquire more knowledge from this activity.
This activity aims to enhance MAFAR personnel’s understanding of ARC development plans by teaching the importance of comprehensive plans, data collection methods, formulation techniques, stakeholder integration, and promoting sustainable development.
The regional personnel, MAFAR municipal officers, and ARPTs from Maguindanao and Lanao del Sur actively participated in the workshop to come up with plans and strategies that will respond to the needs of ARC.
