MAGUINDANAO DEL NORTE – The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform – Special Development Fund (MAFAR-SDF) recently turned over one unit of fishpond and essential fishery inputs to the Magapas Farmers Association held on March 14, 2024, at Barangay Matengen, Sultan Kudarat.
The Magapas Farmers Association received comprehensive resources aimed at enhancing their fishery operations. Among the items turned over were 14,000 pieces of Tilapia Fingerlings, 40 bags of Fry Mash, 50 bags of Crumble, 50 bags of Starter, 60 bags of Grower, and 60 bags of Finisher feeds.
MAFAR-SDF Program Officer for Operation and Coordination Roselainie A. Mamalaguia, MAPDS, led the turnover ceremony, along with the MAFAR Inspectorate team and a representative from the Commission on Audit (COA).
By rehabilitating the fishpond and providing fishery inputs to the Magapas Farmers Association, the fisherfolks can generate sustainable income, meet local demand, and tap into broader markets, thus strengthening economic prosperity within the community.
