COTABATO CITY – On January 30, 2025, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform Mohammad S. Yacob, Ph.D., officially called for the budget preparation for Fiscal Year (FY) 2026, outlining key priorities for the upcoming fiscal year.
Through this initiative, MAFAR continues to strengthen financial planning to better serve Bangsamoro farmers, fisherfolk, and agrarian reform beneficiaries in the years ahead.
In his message, Minister Yacob emphasized the importance of prioritizing the needs of farmers, fisherfolk, and agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) in the coming years. He also stressed the need to ensure that projects and programs are implemented based on their relevance and alignment with the beneficiaries’ actual needs.
“Our objective and mission are to enable the Bangsamoro government to effectively meet the needs of beneficiaries and support farming as their primary livelihood,” he added.
He expressed his hope to see more efficient and improved projects, as well as new initiatives compared to the previous year, that beneficiaries can fully benefit from.
MAFAR remains committed to sustainable agricultural development and inclusive growth, ensuring that financial resources are allocated effectively to priority programs, projects, and services.
Additionally, Planning Officer III, Engr. Fahad Kanakan presented the ways forward and the Calendar of Activities, detailing essential steps in the budget preparation process.
