COTABATO CITY – To provide an avenue for farmers and fisherfolk to sell their agri-fishery products at farm gate prices, the MAFARLENGKE Trade Fair officially opened today, January 21, 2025, in front of the MAFAR-BARMM compound, Bangsamoro Government Center.
The Agribusiness Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD), in collaboration with the Fisheries Post-harvest Division of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform, launched the MAFARLENGKE Trade Fair as part of the celebration of the 6th founding anniversary of the Bangsamoro Government.
A total of 15 farmers and fisherfolk exhibitors were given the opportunity to sell their products. The Bangsamoro people can purchase fresh, nutritious, and affordable agri-fishery products, poultry products, and other value-added items within the Bangsamoro Government vicinity. The event will run from January 21 to 23, 2024, and will be open from 8 AM to 5 PM.
MAFAR Deputy Minister Aisha D. Abdullah-Sanggacala, Ph.D., together with Bangsamoro Director General for Fisheries Services Pendatun S. Patarasa, MPA led the ribbon-cutting ceremony, joined by top officials and AMAD Chief Datu Hamsur J. Zaid.
“We in MAFAR our core mandate is to support the Farmers, Fisherfolks, and Agrarian reform- beneficiaries in the entire Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao to make sure that we have food in every table, likewise supporting the entrepreneurs to market their product because this is also part of the advocacy and directive of Minister Mohammad S. Yacob,” DG Patarasa said
Moreover, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform invites all of the constituents of the Bangsamoro region to visit the MAFARLENGKE Trade Fair to show support to our Farmers, Fisherfolks, and Agrarian reform beneficiaries.
