In a continuous move to support Basilan’s fishing community, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR) held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a PhP5 million worth of ice block maker facility in Barangay Banah, Tipo-Tipo on October 10, 2024.
The Groundbreaking ceremony was led by Bangsamoro Director General for Fisheries Services Pendatun S. Patarasa, MPA together with MAFAR-Basilan Provincial Director Hanie Muadz Junuban, MPA, JD.
This facility will provide local fishermen with a reliable source of high-quality ice, essential for preserving their catch and maintaining its freshness.
