On July 18, 2024, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform – Special Development Fund (MAFAR-SDF) turned over one (1) unit of farm tractor to the Tabay Coconut Farm Producer Cooperative in Barangay Budas, Balabagan, Lanao del Sur.
The Tabay Coconut Farm Producer Cooperative is dedicated to coconut and cassava farming, and the addition of this farm tractor is expected to greatly improve the efficiency and productivity of their farming operations. This modern equipment will enable cooperative members to cultivate their land more effectively, leading to higher yields and improved agricultural practices.
In addition to the farm tractor, the cooperative also received 40 heads of native goats. This initiative aims to support the daily livelihood of the cooperative members while they await their harvest. The goats will provide a steady source of income and nutritional support, contributing to the overall well-being of the community.
The turnover ceremony was led by MAFAR-SDF Program Officer for Operation Engr. Najib B. Usman and witness by the SDF Project Management Office (PMO), MAFAR Municipal Office Balabagan, ang the the coop members.
