The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Agrarian Reform (MAFAR) handed over various agri-fishery inputs to nine cooperatives and associations across different municipalities in Basilan on August 21 and 30, 2024. This initiative, funded by the Special Development Fund, aims to support local farmers and fisherfolk in boosting their productivity and income.
The turnover included 1 fishing boat each to the Basilan Ulama Supreme Council and the Kafagu Fishing Association. Additionally, 8 units of payao with post-harvest equipment were provided to Ettub-Ettub Farmers and Fisherfolk Association, KK Kahapan Fishermen Cooperative, Upper Bato-Bato Fishermen Association, Apil-Apil Fishermen Cooperative, and Baguindan Farmers and Fisherfolks Association.
The MNLF Bohe Samak Agri-Fisheries Association received 2 units of fish cages and 3 units of fish pens with inputs, while the Baguindan Agri-Fishery Association was provided with 1 unit of cassava chipper, 1 cassava grater with presser, 36 rolls of barbed wire, and 30 rolls of hog wire.
